With the world in such turmoil as it has been in 2020 it can be challenging sometimes to feel like we are making progress or that we are in fact making a difference. If there’s one thing that this year has taught me is that how we choose to view our world really starts and finishes with YOU. It’s up to you how you choose to commence your day, you can choose to pick up the sorrow of the day before or you can choose to see each new day as a fresh beginning, to open the curtains in the morning and allow the sunshine to stream in and in turn wash over your body, mind and spirit.

One of the ways that I like to make a difference in my own world is through the creation of altars. Our homes may actually already have many altars without us realising they are there. However, creating an altar with intention and focus brings enormous power. Never underestimate the magnitude you hold to change your world through your intention together with physical action.

As long as I can remember I have always loved to create sacred space, to set the table for dinner with beauty and love and to bring the natural world inside the home through plant medicine. Your home is your personal sanctuary and by bringing a sense of sacredness into each and every day in the way you intentionally do those small tasks whether it be setting a table for a meal, making your bed each morning with love and gratitude for the restful night’s sleep and insightful dreams or as I mentioned previously about creating an intention altar within your home. All of these tasks done in a sacred way allows connection to spirit and gives rise to your hopes, wishes and prayers for your bright future.

It’s often all of the little things when combined together that culminate a sense of making a difference and this loving energy ripples out far greater than the four walls of your home. We are all connected and you truly can make a difference in the lives of many purely through your intent and honouring your home as a beacon of light for the world.

I invite you today to consider each morning as you wake to the rising sun what you can do within your home to radiate more love for yourself and in turn the world. Then again at the with the setting sun in the evening to give gratitude for all that you already have and know that you are in fact making a difference one heart beat at a time.
