Are you an early riser? Someone who likes to be up to see the sun peak over the horizon? It’s a magical moment to be up before it’s light. Everything is quiet and still. It’s been the longest time since there was sunlight, it’s cool and the starlight is what is illuminating the earth. Then, with warming reds and pinks on the horizon, a new day is coming.

“It’s always darkest before the dawn”

That quote about the darkness generally refers to how sometimes things seem at their absolute worse before things turn around and get better. It’s meant to give hope, and inspire.

But what if the darkness did not refer to things having to be bad.  What if the darkness referred to the Yin, The Divine Feminine energy of creation…  a time of rest and turning inward? It is the time for thinking, dreaming and being inspired about what is to come.

Inspiration, and the seed of all new things begin in the darkness. Plants, people, bunnies, bears… we all begin in darkness. Whether it’s  deep in the earth or the safety of the womb. We need that darkness to begin our journey and growth. Yin is the Chinese term for the representation of the Divine Feminine, and it’s energy of receptivity and creatively is strengthened and blossoms in the sweet quiet of the night.

Are you looking for inspiration on some aspect of your life? Try these tips to create yin space in your home and life:

  • Choose evening as a time to curl up with your journal book.
  • Keep the lights low, and illuminate your space with a candle or two to enjoy the dance of the shadows on the walls.
  • Wear dark colors, wrap the night energy around you.
  • Keep the space as quiet as possible, or use the sound of crickets or a campfire playing on your music streaming device.
  • Just be. Have no agenda. Allow your thoughts to flow. Accept what comes.
  • Connect with your angels, guides and your belief in the Divine. Give gratitude for all you have received in the past.

As you turn your focus inward, you are stepping into this energy of the yin… a birthplace of inspiration. And if you choose to get up before the sun, as the light of the new day greets you, may the  inspiration that whispered within you in the darkness be birthed into action in the light!

Enjoy the deepest night in the Northern Hemisphere on the Solstice! Let the magic of creativity and inspiration flow into your life, with ease!

Love,

LuAnn
