Ah, the 1980’s…. Remember the Big hair, McMansions, and an obsession over the accumulation of things?  All of these possessions were the status symbol of ‘I am abundant’. However this thinking that ‘things’ equals abundance,  led to homes choking in stuff. Things that we bought, things that we inherited, things that we feel we need to keep. This disease of stuff makes our homes feel stagnant and literally ‘stuffed’. And definitely not abundant.

Many times we keep things out of a sense of fear. Fear that we might need it someday and not have the funds to purchase a new one. Fear that we will feel guilty if we release something we inherited or were gifted that is not our style or taste.  Fear that if we release something that we spent a lot of money on, it proves that we were foolish for purchasing that thing. And here’s a secret… keeping things out of fear, perpetuates fear… not abundance.

In the Linn Academy programs, we define clutter as anything you don’t currently use or love. If you look around your room right now, how much can you identify that falls into this category? If you are like many people, there are things that might have been useful in the past, or objects you just ‘had to have’ years ago, but are not really serving any purpose in life now.  Releasing these things from your space and your life not only makes more physical space, it releases a fear, and allows chi to flow. And that opens up the flow of abundance in your life. Try it with just one shelf or one drawer, and see how phenomenal it feels. The things you truly love and use will shine brightly and your space will feel more alive. And so will you.

Now, abundance can be defined differently. It’s not stuff… it is a FEELING. You can welcome in the flow of health, love, time and prosperity. Focus your attention on what kind of abundance you want to attract into your life, and then act as if it has already occurred. If you want an abundance of love in your life, act as if you were already a person deeply and profoundly loved. Feel it. And it will be attracted to you.

Life is more than abundance of stuff. Today you can take steps to creating that life that feels abundant in all the important ‘things’, and those things do not take up space!
